Steel Warehouse Company, a steel solutions provider and service center, recently hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the construction of its next generation hybrid leveling system. At an investment of $20 million, this system combines advanced decoiling, leveling, cutting, and packaging, and is capable of accurately and efficiently processing an array of steel grades and thicknesses.
"We are pleased and excited to continue to invest in our corporate home, South Bend, IN. Over the years, we continue to invest and modernize our facilities here," said Dave Lerman, Chairman of the Board at Steel Warehouse. "Here, we are starting up a $20M investment in a state-of-the-art steel cut-to-length-line. This highly automated equipment is capable of meeting state-of-the-art tolerances on the newest flatness and extra high-strength steels. We continue to extend the capabilities to our customers so they can take advantage of these advancements."
Steel Warehouse will be able to bring new opportunities to the local workforce with the new hybrid leveling line, specifically in high-tech operator and maintenance roles. Steel Warehouse has committed to upskilling this talent through training on this machinery and opening avenues for advancement within the company.
